Title devised by cataloger Provenance: This item, along with ART Box C955 no.54 and 55, was purchased from the sale of the collection of Samuel Henry Austin, held by the American Art Association, April 23-24, 1917. According to the catalog of the sale the item was originally part of a bound volume of Cruikshank drawings, formerly owned by John B. Gough and purchased, by Austin, from the collection of C.D. Borden. Drawings were no.353, 362, 366 in the catalog of the Austin collection Subject: A light charcoal sketch of Falstaff scolding Francis for bringing him bad wine (Henry IV, pt. 1, Act II Sc. 4).
