A Catholic prayer book. Part I, compiled by a priest, includes prayers of St. Ambrose (leaf 25), St. Thomas Aquinas (leaves 30v, 40) and St. Bonaventura (leaf 40v). Part II (flip-side of manuscript) includes St. Teresa's aspiration when she heard the clock strike (leaf 4v), an Act of contrition translated out of Portuguese (leaf 17v), and a prayer bewailing our manifold miseries...out of Thomas à Kempis (leaf 20)
