Collection of motets and fantasias by British and Continental composers; copied in the early 17th century. Most works are unattributed; the only attributed pieces are Two fantasias, numbers 40-41 by "Mr. Bird" (originally attributed to William Byrd, but thought not to be by Charteris, although number 23 appears to be by Byrd), and number 46 by Luca Marenzio. Unattributed composers include: Christian Erbach, Ivo de Vento, Jacob Regnart, Michael Deiss, Jean de Chaynée, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Christian Hollander, Clemens non Papa, Orazio Vecchi, Gregor Aichinger, Francisco Guerrero and Thomás Luis de Victoria
