Leaf [a]1, blank, lacking; lower edge of leaves [o]4 and [F]8 partly torn; rubricated letters are smudged at the beginning of the volume; edges trimmed affecting fore-edge inscription on front flyleaf. Initials rubricated in red, with capital strokes, paragraph marks, and underlining of titles and biblical references; also occasional repetition of the name of the Saint in same red paint in the 1st few sermons; from leaf [s]5v on, only initials and paragraph marks are rubricated. A few early manuscript notes in margins. Inscription on verso of front fly leaf: Georgius Reuss de Neustadte ex Carniolana clericus Me iam suo mancipio possidet ... ; another inscription in fore-edge margin of leaf [a]2r in a different handwriting, starting: Georgius Raus ... [partially illegible]; remaining adhesive indicates a slip was pasted over it; also handwritten at head of leaf [a]2r: Bibliothecae Augustinianae ad D.V. Schuteranam Ingolstadij 1634. Viti Prieser SSae Theologiae Licentiati A.ÌŠd. 91. Mense Ia ... [incomplete]; handwritten note on recto of front fly leaf: To L.C. Illingworth From C.B. Contemporary quarter pigskin binding, possibly Swiss, blind tooled with leaf design rolls on wooden boards; 2 clasps (1 has remains only); paper spine label at the head of the spine and small round sticker on the tail of the spine with number; inscription on fore-edge: "Postilla Alb: Magni"; the first gatherings show evidence of nail perforation from front cover, slightly affecting text; repaired; in a tailored box.
