General notes
Erroneously attributed to John Bramhall, who died in 1663. The authorship of "The vindication of the clergy from the contempt imposed upon them" has not been established. It has been erroneously attributed to John Eachard Preface signed "T.B.", the initials employed by John Eachard. However, the postscript says that the author wrote the preface in the "lofty and swaggering style" of T.B. and signed T.B.'s initials to it A reply to two of the five letters printed at the end of "Mr. Hobbs's state of natured considered" by John Eachard This is a PRELIMINARY RECORD.
