Summary
Many of the letters discuss Mrs. Garrick, Elizabeth (Fürst) von Saar, his antiquarian and genealogical research, and the Rackett family. A letter with black border dated October 17, 1822 describes Mrs. Garrick's death (L.g.49). The letters refer also to the falsification of pedigrees by Rouge Croix (February 8, 1819, L.g.41, and others); the funeral of George III (February 18, 1820, L.g.43); the sale of some of the "rubbish" belonging to Mrs. Garrick's estate and some Elizabeth I manuscripts discovered at the State Paper Office (both November 29, 1825, L.g.51); the Reform Bill (March 26, 1831, L.g.66, and others); Beltz's discoveries in Stratford upon Avon and Boswell's Life of Johnson (December 10, 1831, L.g.68). Beltz and Rackett were co-trustees of Garrick's estate
