Summary
Inventory of the goods and chattels of the London pewterer James Braithwaite, providing details of the contents of his shop and living quarters as well as records of debtors and creditors. Among the contents listed under the first heading "Pewter in the Shop & kitchin" are "5 doz[en] & 1/2 of Alchimy spoones" valued at 12 shillings, "an old counterbeame & wooden scales," "one lad-worke wheele," and "one brasse mould." Braithewaite's "livery gowne faced w[i]th budge" (presumably worn in his capacity as a Freeman of the Pewterer's Company) is listed under "Apparrell." Several members of the nobility are listed under "Good debts owing to the Testator att his decease" and "Sperate debts owing to the Testator att his decease" (among them "the Countesse of Oxford," "the Countesse of Bridgwater," and "Lady Cromwell"), while "Debts owing by the Testator att his decease" includes money owed ranging from "for 6 moneths assessment for the Army" and "to the Nurse that attended the Testator in his sicknes."
