Attributed to John Sheffield, Duke of Buckingham In verse The preface to the 1685 edition of John Fletcher's "Valentinian" was written by Robert Wolseley and is a defense of John Wilmot, Earl of Rochester, who is attacked in "An essay upon poetry" A reissue of the 1682 edition, with title page cancelled by a gathering of two leaves, one containing the new title page and the other advertisements; the latter is bound at the end
