Large initial on leaf [a]2r in blue paint with red penwork infill; smaller initials in red or blue, alternating irregularly; paragraph marks and capital strokes added in red throughout; headlines added mostly in red. Extensive manuscript notes in several hands. Ownership inscription at head of leaf [a]2r: "Ad Bibliothecam FF: min: Sc. Franc: Conuent[us] Ratisbon[a]e"; autograph "Hugh Penfold 1887" on verso of front free endpaper (no. 570 in the Sotheby sale catalog of his library, March 1911); bookplate of W.T.
