Additional manuscript prayers for monarchs and Parliament, dated 1630-1640, on front fly-leaves. With leaf "The compilers of the English common prayer book (as now it is) were, ..." dated "Mense maio 1549. Anno Regni Edwardi sexti tertio." from an earlier edition tipped in on front fly-leaf. Provenance: blank leaves at end of volume have detailed contemporary manuscript record of Crewe family births and deaths, 1553-1679 (MS. smk Bd.w. STC 16410), with additional c17 obits at end; inscription on tipped in leaf and t.p.: "John Ardens Esq July 29. 1756" and "John Ardens Esq 1756. from[m] Utkinton"; Hungerford Crewe copy, with armorial bookplate of Crewe Hall (motto "sequor nec inferior")
