Summary
Seven letters and one invoice. Correspondents: Wm. Williams, Jno. Brunton, G.C. Carr, [S?] Faulkner, Catharine C. Enfield, Marie Cubitt, and unidentified correspondent. Letters sent to Elliston either at 9 Stratford Place, Oxford Street or the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. (1), undated from Wm. Williams, concerns theatrical abitions of the correspondent; he informs Elliston that he would be "happy to study any selections from Richard or Iago or both, that you may consider best fitting." Annotation on leaf 2v reads "negative." (2), postmarked Ap. 6 1815 from John Brunton, concerns Brunton's desired rate of pay as actor and manager. (3), dated August 6th, 1819 from G.C. Carr at Somers' Town, requests a meeting to discuss business of Drury Lane Theatre. (4), dated 7 July 1820 from Mr. Faulkner, T.R. Margate, indicates the correspondent's desire to settle his family in London. (5), dated June 23d 1823 from Catharine C. Enfield, concerns the correspondent's desire to try her abilities as a tragic actress. (6), postmarked Sep. 1824 from Marie Cubitt, concerns terms of payment. (7), undated and from an unidentified correspondent, suggests that if Elliston wants to establish the credit of his theatre, he should "not introduce young ladys of light character." Also refers to Mr. T. Welsh. (8) is an invoice from Mr. Elliston to J. DeVille for light chandeliers with the note "Paid by bills at Birmingham - £216-8-0" following the itemized information
