General notes
Original dress first used in 1885. "When the wedding dress and laces finally came into my possession [1982], many years had passed and since the lace sleeves originally were basted loosely into the bodice they were easily and safely removed to be used in another bridesmaid dress worn by my daughter Alison. The many crocheted buttons were also used subsequently. Other pieces of the interited lace were given to Alison and she counts them as her treasures." --letter from donor Note that right now, dress is currently in pieces: pair of women’s drawers and a petticoat trimmed with lace; padding for a bustle; separate off-white satin bodice and skirt with long train; lace sleeves; crochet-covered buttons from the bodice. 6/11/15
