Notes
General notes
Title and plate mark dimensions from Pennington Part of a series of women's heads in ovals Hollar was active in Antwerp in 1648 According to Pennington, variously identified as the wife of Alexander Roelants, Mary Beaumont (mother of the first duke of Buckingham), and the Marchioness of Buckingham. A pencilled note on the Prague identifies it (unconvincingly) as "Catherine Howard Grandchild to Tho. Earle of Arundel."
