A translation of Horace's "Ars poetica" With an additional title page, engraved, signed "W.M. sculpsit" (i.e. William Marshall), with imprint "London. Printed for John Benson. 1640". Variant 1: this imprint reads "London. Printed for J. Benson and are sold by W. Ley at Paules-Chayne. 1640" "Ben: Ionson's execration against Vulcan", "The masque of the gypsies", and "Epigrams to severall noble personages in this kingdome" each have separate dated title page; pagination and register are continuous. "Vulcan" and "Epigrams" are reprinted from "Ben: Jonsons execration against Vulcan", 1640 The first leaf and the last leaf are blank; the second bears an imprimatur D6-10 and E5-11 are cancelled by gatherings d¹² and e¹² respectively.
