Artist: The barely visible possiblity of a signature that appears in the lower left hand corner of both drawings might begin with a P Provenance: Items are inlaid after p. 228 of Henry VI, pt. 2 which is volume 8, pt. 2 of an extra illustrated copy of the Works of Shakespeare, 1881 edition, edited by Staunton. For complete volume and provenance information see entry for "Anonymous. Romeo taking poison for the loss of Juliet." Subject: Both drawings illustrate the ruins of Kenilworth Castle. A shepherd is shown in both, along with his sheep, grazing on the castle grounds The first drawing is labeled, on the drawing, in pencil, "Mervyns Tower Kenilworth" and the second is labeled, in the same manner "Kenilworth Castle."
