Lacks conjugate leaves 14 1;14 8 and 14 2;14 7. Illuminated initial on leaf a2r in gold and colors, with initials "F I P" in gold; initials in red and blue at beginning of each sermon; smaller initials and paragraph marks in alternate red and blue throughout the book; capital strokes in yellow on first 2 printed pages. A few manuscript notes and "Nota" marks in brown ink; manuscript numbering of leaves 1-355, reading "1-351" (not including lacking leaves); headlines (titles of sermons) added by hand throughout; a few letters, unevenly printed, have been filled-in by hand. In a late 15th cent. pasteboard binding (alum-tawed sheep- or deerskin, reversed, stained teal blue over manuscript pasteboards of approximately 18 layers of paper manuscript); brass title plaque on lower cover (with author and title inscription); remains of 4 ties; author-title inscription repeated on all edges and on spine; strips of vellum manuscript (13th cent., a gloss to a legal text?) used as reinforcement at center of gatherings; paper coverings of pasteboards and vellum endleaves (which consist of a legal document in French, ca. 1450, concerning properties in Seine-et-Marne). Ebroicensium"; another inscription on verso of last leaf "Fratris Ioannis aubour[?] doctor[is]"; bookplates of George Dunn (no. 3863 in the Sotheby sale catalog of his library, Nov. 1917), and of W.T. Smedley; purchased in 1924
