Summary
Written at Bath. The author [Robert Lesse] states that he has used Fallopius' Of medicinal waters as a platform to build upon it his brief view of baths (p. 3). Lesse had been hired by Bishop Berkeley, bishop of Bath and Wells, to guide the bishop (by his writing) in the healthful usage of medicinal waters to help especially the unlearned laity (p. 11). The work is an epitome of the first 16 chapters of Fallopius' De medicatis aquis. Dedicated to Mr. Doctor Still, Master of Trinity College, Cambridge
