General notes

The letters to his wife (105-107) of his American theatrical tour. Among the letters to Bryden (12-15) are 2 engraved copies of the "Testimonial to Mr. Macready," August 1, 1839. The letters to John W. Cooper (30-41) contain 4 drafts of Alfred Bunn's replies, 2 written in Bunn's hand on behalf of Cooper (35-36). Also, on (34) and (39) are drafts in Bunn's hand, the latter carrying his signature. The letter to Robert Elliston (51) contains the draft of an agreement between himself and Macready, September 16, 1823. Pasted on the verso of the letter to Lord Chamberlain are three covers addressed to him as the Marquis Conyngham, n.d. Letters to Lady Fobes, (53) is in the hand of Macready's wife Catherine and (54) was written by his sister Letitia, both on his behalf. (62) is endorsed in Greaves' hand. (83-85) in the hand of Macready's second wife, Cecile Macready. (94) envelope only addressed to W.J. Linton. (102) is an envelope only addressed to Charles Mackay.
