Summary
Both letters concern a Miss Marie (probably Marie Mercandotti), a dancer. (1) is a fragment. (2), written from Paris, indicates that it is the wish of Lord Fife that she rests a little before she dances and requests that Allan not introduce her to any gentleman "as she is to be quiet till we come over." A note in another hand, perhaps Allan's, reads "What infamy!!!" Both letters addressed to Edward Allan, Esq., Secretary of the King's Opera, 27 Old Bond Street, London
