A tissue paper has been tipped in between the item and the printed text. In ink, on the tissue paper, the artist and title have been noted. Painting is signed in lower left hand corner Artist: Mossa is noted in Benezit and Thieme-Becker as a watercolor painter and illustrator. The spelling of his first names vary History: Although Mossa is noted as an illustrator, no Shakespeare edition is listed in NUC, BMC or French bibliographic sources to contain illustrations by him. NUC does note him as illustrator of Le petit soldat, 1919 Provenance: Drawing has been inlaid and tipped into a French translation of selected Shakespeare plays.
