In a remote, war-torn region of Africa, an International Red Cross group led by Dr. Desdemona Ferguson (Joanna Pettet) crosses paths with General Othello (Max Boulois) and his band of guerilla fighters. Despite their heated confrontations, an inevitable attraction develops. Seemingly loyal subjugate Col. Iago (Tony Curtis) tries to undermine Gen. Othello's authority and burgeoning relationship
