Oval portrait in decorative frame; half length, to viewer's right; wearing cap, rochet, and stole; his left hand on an open bible inscribed "Verbum Dei." With coat of arms and date 1618 above; in cartouche below, 8 lines of verse by "Ge. Wi." (George Wither) beginning "These lineaments of art, haue well set forth."
