(1) Dated 8 Feb. 1854; Phillipps would like the recipient's opinion on Palaephatus' De Incredibilibus; the second leaf contains a passage in Modern Greek from a copy of Palaephatus' De Incredibilibus in another hand; (2) Phillipps writes that the note of Palephatus was taken from a manuscript on vellum but he cannot tell if it is of genuine antiquity or not. Both letters are addressed "Dear Sir" and are addressed from Middle Hill
