From dealer's description:"The playbill advertises the 7th performance of Gounod’s opera at Stora Teatern. The opera was first performed in Paris in April 1867. The Swedish translation was made by Ernst Wallmark and Th. Martin was the choreographer. The rather quick adaption into Swedish is of certain interest since the opera in its original French edition had a printed dedication leaf for the Swedish King Charles XV from the composer Gounod. The Stockholm Royal Theatre was split into two separate venues in 1863 when the Royal Dramatic Theatre got its own house. The two venues issued a common playbill each day, with performances at the opera house “Stora Teatern” in the left column and at the Dramatic Theater in the right column. Occasionally, when no plays were performed in one of the houses, that column was left blank." This is a PRELIMINARY RECORD. It may contain incorrect information.
