Summary
In the letter to Malone, Reynolds discusses some old words and phrases and also asks him to examine critically the Discourse he has sent and to add a little elegance. Also includes notes probably intended for the Second and Fourth Discourses, [1769?-1771?] (transcribed in F.W. Hilles's The literary career of Sir Joshua Reynolds, 1936, p. 218, 220; and Sir Joshua's "Statement, relative to the Picture of Macbeth [intended for the Shakespeare Gallery]. December 1791", proposing that the price be determined by arbitration). There are two pen and ink sketches, verso of (3) and (6)
