Proverbs, probably copied out by one James Risleye, written on the verso of the title-page of An introductorie for to lerne to rede ... Frenche ..., by [Giles Du Wés, 1540?]. Also several other proverbs in a different hand; a scrap of musical notation; signatures and notes made by a Thomas Smith, one mentioning a Thomas Woodkeper; signature of Henry Hulto; and some notes at the end added by John Hanmer. Two of the proverbs are listed in H. Walther's Proverbia ..., 1966, no. 28318 and 33363
