The prince lies in a cradle wearing a headdress of feathers. The cradle rests on a table draped with a patterned cloth. His mother, Mary of Modena, is seated next to the cradle, her r. hand resting on its edge. The prince looks out away from his mother toward a vase full of flowers on the other side of his cradle
