An edition offered by subscription either in 9 volumes or in 18 numbered parts The second Boston edition, probably edited by David Francis. There were two other editions in 1802-1804, without the Poems, and 1810-1812. (Jaggard p. 508). W.W. Clapp in his record of the Boston Stage, 1853, says "The notes were rewritten and condensed by Mr. Munroe from an English edition and subsequently adapted by several publishers." Each volume with half-titles and engraved title pages. Plays with divisional titles bearing "Munroe & Francis' edition" on versos Volume title pages dated 1807 Individual title page in v. 9 reads: A philosophical analysis and illustration of some of Shakespeare's remarkable characters : to which is added an essay on the faults of Shakespeare / by W.
