General notes
Somehow related to the Munroe & Francis 2nd ed., whose v. 9 is an entirely different ed. A relationship is suggested by the 'Vol. IX' which occurs on many signatures here (e.g. leaf D1). Otherwise this appears to be an unrelated separate. The edition is a page-for-page reprint of v. 9 of the 1774 Bell text (with a poem on Anne Hathaway added). The Bell biographical sketch is printed in full, with footnotes (Folger card catalog) Under heading Poems on several occasions (p. [135]-258) are most of the sonnets (146) grouped under various titles, interspersed with the poems of the Passionate pilgrim, the Lover's complaint, the Phoenix and the turtle, and a number of translations from Ovid, falsely ascribed to Shakespeare. The arrangement of the edition of 1640
