A reprint of the protestation (Crawford I, 2132) along with the King's summons (Crawford I, 2134): the latter has caption "By the King"; text begins "VVhereas upon summons from us divers gentlemen of this our country of Yorke did attend upon Thursday the 12. of this instant," ending "Given at our court at Yorke the 14. day of May, in the eighteenth yeare of our reigne. Vivat Rex. 1642." Two-line initial. The last word of the first line of text is 'the'; the word at the lower right-hand corner of the initial is 'Gentry'; the last word of the last full line of text is 'Court'
