General notes
William Whorwood was possibly the son of Sir Thomas and Ursula (Brome) Whorwood, as suggested by a ms. inscription on leaf [ii]. He was probably not the "son of Sir Thomas [i.e. Brome] and Lady Jane Whorwood, of Halton, Oxfordshire, the ardent royalists ..." as the description pasted on to the endleaf attests, as Brome and Jane Whorwood only had one son, named Brome, who drowned in 1657, and Brome Whorwood's one illegitimate son, named Thomas, was born in 1664 Signed: Wm. Whorwood (leaf 14v) Accounts recorded on about 65 interleaved pages with Calendarium Carolinum, or, A new almanack after the old fashion . . . 1666 / by George Wharton (Wing A2657) Leaves foliated continuously in blue pencil, including printed and interleaved material W.
