Summary
About Irish affairs. Written from "the court." Informs Mountjoy that the reinforcements are being sent to him and then asks in a lengthy postscript that he confer a colonelcy on the brother of the earl of Northumberland [Sir Richard Percy], cryptically referring to Mountjoy's future wife, Penelope Rich, and to Sir Walter Raleigh, and adding that the earl "is one whom I would not discontent."
