Lacks all leaves after leaf [L]1 (description of colophon from BM 15th cent.); coating over printed area on most leaves. All initials provided in red paint; paragraph marks, capital strokes and underlining of titles regularly provided in same paint in inner column of each page only. Scarce manuscript notes in brown ink with a few manicules and brackets; manuscript numbering of leaves starting on leaf [a]3, reading 1-262 (number 114 repeated in foliation); columns of each leaf are labelled a-d; manuscript index of some sermons on leaf [a]1r reflecting this numbering (and including references to leaves now lacking at end); also a paper manuscript fragment used as a bookmark. Early pink alum tawed sheepskin binding on wooden boards, with blind tooled saltire on both covers; evidence of clasps catching on front cover; fragments of manuscript on paper bearing wordlists used as pastedowns; vellum manuscript fragments used as spine reinforcements. Ownership inscription on leaf [a]3r "Templi Lüttoniensis S. Marci"; purchased in 1958
