Please consult Curator for assistance "The country girl" is Garrick's adaptation of Wycherley's "The country wife" (which, in turn, is an adaptation of Moliere's "School for wives"). "The country wife" does not have a character named Miss Peggy (see Hazlitt, A view of the English stage, 1906, and character list from Wycherly's A country wife, 1751, both via Google Books accessed Oct. 1 2009)
