A cover letter to a copy of the letter Fox wrote to the King (no longer with this item), with indications that the original had been delivered "in to the kings owne hand, in the Eighth month called October 1660, by one Jane Tickeridge." With regards to that letter, he states "I knowing that I had noe euill desire in me towards the King, but in loue to his soule & body, I wrote in plainenesse to him." Indicates, however, that he is still a prisoner in Westminster Palace Yards Gatehouse. [Note: Prior to Dec. 2017, this summary transcribed "Tickeridge" as "Fiskeridge"]
Date in letter: "this Eight day of the month called March 1660/61." Signed "George ffox Junior."
