In contemporary English binding of black calfskin (rebacked). The covers were blind tooled with a multiple panel design with the frames tooled with triple line fillets. The central panels are very worn and faint. The front cover has two animal panel stamps framed with quatrefoil filled rhombus pattern with a double scrolling vine (not listed in Oldham). Both panels are divided by a intertwining vine and staff motive. The back cover is similar, but the border around the two panel stamps is a text border (Oldham, Plate VII, AN.7). The spine is divided into five panels and has the title gilt in the second panel and Florence and the date gilt in the fifth panel. Numerous manuscript notes in Latin, manicules, underscoring.
