Souvenir booklet for a screening of John W. Noble and Francis X. Bushman's 1916 production of Romeo and Juliet, starring Francis X. Bushman and Beverly Bayne. Film of this adaptation no longer exists. Bushman & Noble's version was in direct competition with an adaptation produced by William Fox and starring Theda Bara, released the same week "A $250,000 Stupendous Masterpiece accredited by critics to be one of the photoplay wonders of the world." "STRAND, One Day Only, April 14, Prices Matinee and Evenning: 15c and 25c." Metro's Romeo and Juliet was released in October 1916, suggesting that this screening is for the following April (1917)
