An abridged translation of Parsons, Robert. Elizabethae, Angliae Reginae, haeresim Calvinianam propugnantis saevissimum in Catholicos sui Regnis edictum. Here attributed to "Ihon Philopatris" on page 14 (i.e. page 12), the Latin original is written by Parsons under the name "Andreas Philopatrus". The translation, formerly attributed to Joseph Cresswell, is more probably by Richard Rowlands (who is best known under his pseudonym Richard Verstegan)--Cf STC 19885 and Halkett and Laing (A54) Robert Parson's original written in response to a Elizabeth's proclamation of 18 October 1591 (STC 8207) Place of publication from STC First leaf is blank Signatures: A-C⁸ D¹⁰
