Originally an Arabic compilation by Mubashshir ibn Fatik. Translated into English from the French version of Guillaume de Tignonville. cf. Introd The Scrope text, printed from ms. Bodley 943, and the anonymous translation, Helmingham hall ms., are printed on opposite pages. The abbreviated Scrope version, ms. Rawl. poet. 32 of the Bodleian library is given in Appendix A. William Worcester's additions have been placed in the collations
