Summary
A view of the city from the river marked 'THE HVMBER'. Fortifications surround the city, with a fort on the wharf in c. and two forts guarding the harbor on r., one flying a large St. George's flag. In c. backg. the tower of the church. Two navy frigates are moored together in foreg. A 3-masted merchantman flying the St. George's cross at her stern is anchored to l. of them, while a pinnace on r. with both sails set on the foremast and the main topsail set is sailing out of the roadstead.--From Pennington
