Summary
The letters mention their mutual friend, Joseph Crosby, and discuss portraits of Shakespeare. Wyman mentions his scrapbook devoted to the subject. In (2) he states he has perhaps 125 vols. in the Shakespeare department and 200 engravings of the portraits. In (3) he refers to his copy of A. Wivell's An inquiry into the history, authenticity, & characteristics of the Shakspeare portraits [W.a. 241] and its Supplement with the author's notes. According to one note: "Capt. Robinson has in his collection a female's portrait, which he dignified with the appellation of Mrs. Shakespeare, and reports that it once belonged to the Hathaway family."
